I have been creating clothing for over 20 years. I was formally trained in fashion in London, England and acquired a Master’s degree in textiles in Michigan, USA. After so many years of creating, I've reached a point where I am finally able to really enjoy the exploratory aspect of the way I create. The explorer in me has always been innate, yet I've resisted it, thinking that my creativity should stay focused in order to be understandable. Now, I enjoytrying to understand my own work and happy to hope that others might understand aspects of it too! I find inspiration around many unexpected corners, a discarded bag, a dead bug, and by the idea of helping to address and perhaps helping tosolve environmental issues of our time. Thus, curiosity and compassion usually propel me into inspiration. My current focus is in exploring areas of fashion and textiles that are based on concepts, symbols, and images that aremeaningful to me; to translate my essence into form. Thus far, the results have yielded the creation of clothing and accessories for women that are artistic, thought provoking, conscientious, and empowering.
